Insurance and Financial Policy



At My Smile Health Centre, we believe that you deserve the best care for your oral and overall health. That is why we always present you with the best, optimal and preventive dental solution possible to enhance your personal situation. Each year we provide excellent dental care to hundreds of patients. Some have dental benefits but some do not.


Here are some important things you should know if you do have dental benefits:

My Smile Health Centre fees are based on the current fee guide recommended by the British Columbia Dental Association. 


Your dental benefits are based upon a contract made between your employer and an insurance company. If you have any questions regarding your dental benefits please contact your employer or insurance company directly. Dental benefit plans will never pay for completion of your dental care. It is only meant to assist you.


Although we can maintain computerized histories of payment by a given company, they do change periodically; therefore it is impossible to give you a guaranteed quote at the time of service. We estimate your portion based on the most up-to-date information we have, but it is ONLY AN ESTIMATE. If you would like to know your insurance benefit, we will be happy to send in a “pre-treatment determination” with your insurance company prior to treatment. Keep in mind this is not a guarantee of coverage. This does delay treatment but will give you an estimated out of pocket figures you may require.


We will bill your insurance as a courtesy. If insurance does not pay within 90 days, My Smile Health Centre reserves the right to request payment in full for services from you and let you collect the insurance funds that are due to you. This is rare but it is important that you recognize that the insurance you have is a legal contract between YOU and your insurance company. Our office is not, and cannot be a part of that legal contract. Ultimately, you are responsible for all charges incurred in our office.


My Smile Health Centre does require payment in full for your portion at the time of service. We accept MasterCard, Visa, debit, cash, and cheques* (*for existing patients with established payment history). If you are in need of an extended finance option, we also work with Companies who offer financing options. 


Certain comprehensive procedures may require a non refundable deposit to reserve your visit.  This deposit will apply to your portion if the appointment is not cancelled.


Please note you will need to notify us immediately if there have been any changes to your dental insurance, address or place of employment.

Dentist cost in Vancouver varies depending on many factors. Every year, British Columbia Dental association publish a recommended fee guide which is followed by most dental insurance companies. There are over 1400 codes and procedures and while not all dentists follow these codes and are free to charge more than recommended fee guide, our dental office follow this fee guide to keep the cost of dental treatment to our patients affordable.

While we use state of the art technology and offer the best quality dentistry to our patients, we have Direct Billing setup with most Dental Insurance companies so you do not have to send claims to your insurance company or wait for payments. As a complimentary service, we do all the paper works for you. Patients are responsible only for any deductible, co-payment or any amount not covered by their plan.

If you are collecting points on your credit card, you may choose to pay by credit card and to get reimbursed by your insurance company.

At My Smile Health Centre, Dr. Ivy Yu provides excellent dental care and offers a wide variety of financial options for our patients.

Please note that not all services may be covered by your insurance and every insurance plan has its own limits and exceptions.  It is the patient's responsibility to pay for any fees that are not covered by their insurance plan. 

Financing Options

If you do not have an insurance provider, we accept the following financing options:

In-Office Financing 

Your budget should never be a barrier to receiving dental care, so we offer an in-office dental health plan. It is designed to accommodate a variety of budgets our patients may have. Please contact our office to inquire more details about the In-Office Financing.

Other Payment Options

We accept payments in the form of Cash, Bank Drafts, Debit, VISA or Mastercard. We strive to make your experience as comfortable and stress-free as possible, and we are happy to answer any questions you may have regarding your financial options.
